Same thing happened a second time, and, after that, I was unable to connect to the device either in Win7 or Vista (32-bit), and the firmware seems shot. I was able to connect to the software that supports the device, it started to update the firmware, then, part way through, Win7 crashed - BSOD: System Service Error. The bad news is that I did this, the driver loaded, and I tested my device. There is an option in the boot menu (if you hit F8 during the boot process). As far as I know, there is no way to bypass the digital signature requirement for 64-bit hardware drivers.
